VERMILLION, S.D. — University of South Dakota head football coach
Bob Nielson has been named to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Series (FCS) Oversight Committee, named to a four-year term through 2028.
Nielson enters his ninth season at the University of South Dakota in 2024 and has led the Coyotes to all three of their FCS playoff appearances. Last season, Nielson led USD to their first 10-win season since 1986.
The FCS Oversight Committee supervises the qualifications and/or selection procedures for the FCS Championship, along with other matters involving the Championship. The committee also provides direction to the NCAA Football Rules Committee regarding playing rules at the Division I FCS level.
The FCS Oversight Committee consists of 17 members from the FCS at-large with one member from each FCS conference.
