South Dakota volleyball picked third in Summit League Preseason Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The South Dakota volleyball team was picked to finish third in the Summit League Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll after receiving 49 points, as announced by the League office Tuesday. The Coyotes were co-Summit League Regular Season Champions after posting a 12-4 league record in 2023. Senior outside hitter Kylen Sealock and junior defensive specialist Kamryn Farris were selected as players to watch for USD.
 
South Dakota finished the 2023 campaign with an 18-11 overall mark and advanced to its sixth straight postseason tournament, after being selected to play in the 2023 National Volleyball Invitational Championship.
 
Omaha was tabbed as the league favorite with 64 points and eight first place votes, while Denver totaled 51 points and one first place vote.
 
Sealock earned her first All-Summit League honors a year ago after pacing the team with 363 kills. Sealock had a conference high 32 aces during league play and her 196 kills in conference games ranked No. 5 among Summit League players. She had 10 double-doubles on the season and 23 matches with double-digit kills. Sealock tallied a career high 21 kills in a five-set win at South Dakota State on a .271 hitting percentage and totaled 18 digs.
 
Farris was the Summit League's digs leader a season ago with 277 in conference games. In her sophomore season, Farris totaled 409 digs to lead the Coyotes and averaged 3.56 digs per set. She was third on the team with 32 service aces and handed out 96 assists. Farris notched a season-high 30 digs on Oct. 17 in a win over South Dakota State.
