PREVIEW: Coyotes set to host South Dakota State Saturday

VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota Coyotes women's soccer team is set to host in-state rival South Dakota State for a "Red Out" matchup this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. 

South Dakota Coyotes 

The Coyotes enter the weekend with an overall record of 6-4-5 and a 2-2-1 mark in Summit League play. With three regular season matches remaining, South Dakota currently sits in fourth place in the conference standings. 

Offensively, the Coyotes are led by Klarissa Vega, who has been a consistent force this season. Vega has scored seven goals to date, ranking second in the Summit League in goals and third in total points. Supporting the attack are Brooklyn Bordson and Mali Van Meeteren, each contributing three goals on the season. 

Defensively, goalkeeper Cambell Fischer has recorded three shutouts and made 46 saves, playing a key role in the team's success. 

South Dakota State Jackrabbits 

South Dakota State enters the match with a 9-2-4 overall record and 3-1-1 record in Summit League play. The Jackrabbits currently hold third place in the conference standings and lead the league in total goals, assists, and points. 

A standout performer for SDSU is forward Emma Brezenski, who leads the Summit League in total shots and ranks second in shots on goal. In net, Mallorie Benhart has been solid for the Jackrabbits, ranking third in the league with 49 total saves.
