Nekola Shoots Par to Pace Coyotes on Day 2 of Summit Championships

MESA, Ariz. — Catie Nekola carded even par (71) on Day 2 of the Summit League Championships down in Arizona on Monday, moving into the top-15 individually with the South Dakota women's golf team sitting in seventh-place after 36 holes.
 
USD sits one stroke ahead of North Dakota and trails Omaha by eight strokes for sixth-place. Four Coyotes posted round score improvements compared to Day 1 as two currently sit in the top-25.
 
Nekola carded the team's best round of the tournament today 71 (E), moving 10 spots up the individual leaderboard on the day to sit tied for 15th after sitting in a tie for 25th after the first day. She posted four birdies on the day with three coming on the back nine.
 
Ella Greenberg is the other Yote in the top-25 of the individual leaderboard, posting a 75 (+4) on the day – a three-stroke improvement from Sunday. She posted four birdies on the round.
 
Lara Gehring had a nine-stroke improvement in Round 2, moving up four spots into a tie for 31st. She signed a card of 74 (+3) on the day, the second-best round score of the Yote line-up.

Denver continues to lead the event with a 286-292=578 (+10) team score, leading by nine strokes over Oral Roberts. After a 69 (-2) second day, Oral Robert's Anna Swan moves into the top spot with a 141 (-1) score through 36 holes.

The final round Summit League women's golf championships resume at 7 a.m. local time. The Coyotes will begin teeing off back at the 7 a.m. local time slot with the live results linked above.
