VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota athletic department has unveiled the promotion schedule for the 2025 football season including game themes for the six home games inside the DakotaDome this season.
 
The six promotions for this season are designed to support the community while also enhancing the atmosphere inside the DakotaDome for the nationally ranked Coyotes heading into the first season of head coach Travis Johansen.
 
There's still time to buy or renew season tickets heading into the 2025 football season. Single game tickets for the 2025 season will go on sale later this summer.
 
A full breakdown of the 2025 football promotion schedule is below:
 
Saturday, September 13 – vs. Northern Colorado

• Wear White & Ag Appreciation: The 2025 home opener is set for September 13 when the Yotes play host to the University of Northern Colorado out of the Big Sky. South Dakota will hold its annual Ag Appreciation Day to kickoff the promotion slate and fans are encouraged to wear white to the game against the Bears!

Saturday, September 20 – vs. Drake

• Wear Black & Family Weekend: Families are welcome – always – but even more so on September 20 for Family Weekend on the campus of the University of South Dakota. Fans – and family members – are encouraged to wear black to the game against the Drake Bulldogs. 

Saturday, October 4 – vs. Murray State

• Dakota Days: The annual week-long festivities for Dakota Days culminates with the Homecoming game against the Murray State Racers in USD's MVFC home opener. Be sure to join in all the celebrations and return to campus as the University of South Dakota welcomes alumni, students, and friends back to Vermillion.

Saturday, October 25 – vs. Illinois State

• Hall of Fame Weekend & Military Appreciation: The 2025 Henry Heider USD Hall of Fame class will be formerly inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 and celebrated at the football game against Illinois State on Oct. 25. The Coyotes will also welcome and honor those men and women who have served the nation on the annual Military Appreciation game.

Saturday, November 1 – vs. North Dakota

• Native American Heritage Game: South Dakota will honor Native American heritage on November 1 when the Yotes play host to the Fighting Hawks of the University of North Dakota.  

Saturday, November 8 – vs. South Dakota State

• Wear Red & Senior Day: The 2025 interstate series conclude the regular season home slate when the Coyotes will host South Dakota State and honor the senior class ahead of the contest. Fans are encouraged to wear red!
