SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota softball's
Abi Brown,
Autumn Iversen and
Tatum Villotta were named to the 2025 Summit League Softball Academic All-League, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning. The Coyotes led all teams in the conference with three selections to the 2025 Academic All-League team.
Brown appeared in 47 games for the Yotes behind the plate with 42 starts. The sophomore from Bennington, Nebraska held a .327 batting average with a team-leading six homeruns. Brown tallied 34 hits, six doubles and 21 RBIs. She finished the season with eight multi-hit games, including two games with three hits, and carried a nine-game hit streak near the end of the season.
Iversen started in all 55 of her appearances in centerfield and held a .283 batting average. The sophomore from Wahoo, Nebraska was second on the team with 29 RBIs and 11 doubles. Iversen had 15 extra base hits with two triples and a pair of homeruns to go with 24 runs and three stolen bases. She had 12 multi-hit games, 10 games with multiple RBIs and a seven-game hit streak.
Villotta started all 56 games for the Yotes and carried the second highest batting average at .370. The senior from Blair, Nebraska tallied 70 hits, eight doubles, four triples, one homerun, 23 RBIs and led the Yotes with 12 stolen bases. She had 19 games with multiple hits, six with three hits and put together a 17-game hit streak early in the season.
It was the eighth year in a row the Coyotes have had someone represented on the academic team, sixth team the Yotes have had two or more and the second time with three honorees (2021).
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team's total contests.
