VERMILLION, S.D. — 'The dog days of summer' means football is back in the air.
 
The University of South Dakota football teams open practice today (Wednesday) for fall camp under first-year head coach Travis Johansen, exactly one month away from the season opener in Ames, Iowa.

The home opener is slated for September 13 when former North Central Conference (NCC) foe Northern Colorado comes to town for a clash in the DakotaDome. South Dakota will enter that game with an eight-game home win streak after last season's 8-0 mark in the Dome.
