VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota Coyotes return home this week following their first win of the season—a hard-fought road victory over Missouri Valley Conference favorite, Drake. They will host a pair of matches at the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex, beginning Thursday against Big 12 opponent Kansas State. On Saturday, the Coyotes will take on the Morningside Mustangs for Senior Day. Both matches are scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
THE COYOTES
South Dakota enters this home stretch with an unbeaten record of 1-0-1. The Coyotes are coming off a 2-1 win over Drake, thanks to goals from Klarissa Vega and Brooke Conway. In goal, Campbell Fischer has been key for the defense recording five saves across two matches of the season.
THE OPPONENTS
Kansas State comes to Vermillion with a 2-0-0 record on the season so far, with wins over Oral Roberts and Portland State. The Coyotes are 0-3-0 versus the Wildcats since 2016. The Coyotes faced off against the Mustangs last season resulting in a 5-0 win. South Dakota is 5-0-0 in their last 5 matches against Morningside.
