08.27.2025

VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota Coyotes Women's Soccer team heads west this week for a pair of road matchups against Eastern Washington and Idaho.

THE COYOTES

South Dakota enters the road trip with a 2-1-1 record, earning victories over Morningside and Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorite Drake. Offensively, the Coyotes are led by Klarissa Vega, who has tallied three goals and one assist through four matches. In goal, Campbell Fischer anchors the defense with nine saves in four games so far this season.

THE OPPONENTS

Eastern Washington (Thursday, 6:30 p.m. CT – Cheney, Washington)
The Eagles come into Thursday's match with a 1-2 record, including losses to Seattle University and, most recently, a 4-0 defeat at the hands of North Dakota. South Dakota holds a 1-5-1 all-time record against Eastern Washington, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 2-0 loss in 2024. A key player to watch for the Eagles is forward Chloe Pattison. She leads the team with one goal, and one assist this season.

Idaho (Sunday, 3:00 p.m. CT – Moscow, Idaho)
The Coyotes will wrap up the weekend against the Idaho Vandals, who currently sit at 2-1-1 and are scheduled to play Washington on Thursday. Idaho leads the all-time series 4-1, though South Dakota claimed a 1-0 win in their last meeting in 2016. Keep an eye on Annika Farley, who leads the Vandals' attack with two goals in four matches.
