SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Coyotes women's tennis team earned a 5-0 victory over Mount Marty this afternoon, opening the match with two double sweeps before carrying that momentum into singles play.
The Coyotes set the tone in doubles by sweeping both contested matches. Selena Bird and Cassy Marra earned a dominant 6–0 win, while Ava Doddridge and Anna Medvyedyeva followed with another 6–0 victory against Alexandra Salazar and Brooklyn McNac. Mount Marty was unable to field a team for the remaining doubles match, resulting in a forfeit in favor of the Coyotes.
In singles play, South Dakota continued its commanding performance, winning all four played matches in straight sets. Ava Doddridge was the first off the court with a 6–0, 6–0 win over Brooklyn McNac. Cassy Marra added a point with a 6–0, 6–1 victory and Keta Shavishvili secured a 6–1, 6–0 win. Natal Alves De Lima closed singles action with a 6–1, 6–3 result against Camila Lopez.
The South Dakota women's tennis team will return to action next Saturday, January 24, when they face the University of Sioux Falls at the Huether Family Match Pointe in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
