VERMILLION, S.D. — University of South Dakota football student-athletes
Wade Abrams and
Jesse Miller have garnered College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
Defensive captain, Abrams played in 14 games for the Yotes at linebacker with six starts. He posted 49 tackles on the season with four tackles for loss. Posting a season-high nine tackles in the win over Northern Colorado on September 13.
Redshirt sophomore Miller played in all 15 games this season for the Coyotes, with 11 starts. He had 20 receptions for 158 yards and brought down his first-career touchdown reception against Illinois State on October 25.
Both student-athletes have excelled on the field and in the classroom, as you must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and compete in at least 90% of the team's total contests or start in 66% of games.
The 2025 football season Academic All-America teams will be announced on Tuesday, January 27 by College Sports Communicators.
South Dakota finished the 2025 season with a 10-5 (6-2 MVFC) record, good for a second-place finish in the MVFC. The Coyotes advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs for the third-straight season.
