02.25.2026

VERMILLION, S.D. — Athletic Director Jon Schemmel has named Logan Bornholdt the Associate Athletic Director for Development and the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) of South Dakota Athletics on Wednesday morning.

"I am excited for Logan to be leading our development efforts and The Yote Fund team," said Schemmel. "She has done a tremendous job for us over the last couple of years and has earned this opportunity."

Bornholdt joined the Coyotes in the spring of 2024 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development and has been in the role for nearly two years at USD. She was part of the team that put launced The Yote Fund, the new holistic giving model of South Dakota Athletics.

"I am extremely grateful to Jon Schemmel and (the USD Foundation CEO) Noah Shepard for the opportunity to lead the Yote Fund," said Bornholdt. "I am also grateful for the standard of excellence that has been established with the Yote Fund. A strong foundation has been built, and I look forward to building upon that momentum and continuing to elevate its impact."

Prior to South Dakota, Bornholdt spent three years at Dakota State University, where she also served as the Assistant AD for Development. At Dakota State, she played a pivotal role in the $250 million 'Trojans Unite' Campaign.

"I am equally thankful for Coyote Nation and the unwavering support shown to USD Athletics and our student-athletes," concluded Bornholdt. "Being a Yote is something I take great pride in, and I am excited to continue championing and supporting our student-athletes as they pursue excellence both on and off the field."

She also spent two seasons at her alma mater Mount Marty University as the Assistant Director of Annual & Athletic Giving. Before getting into athletics development, Bornholdt spent time as both a women's basketball and golf coach at Mount Marty.

A 2017 graduate of Mount Marty, Bornholdt was women's basketball and golf student-athlete for the Lancers. She earned her graduate degree from Concordia University (Neb.), where she served as a graduate assistant golf coach.
