VERMILLION, S.D. — Athletic Director
Jon Schemmel will formally introduce
Matt Vitzthum as the 32
nd head coach of South Dakota football on Friday, February 13 with a 10:30 a.m. press conference in the Dome Club.
Friday's press conference is open to the public and all media members are invited to attend.
Following the official press conference,
Jay Elsen of Midco Sports will do a sit-down with Vitzthum that fans are able to listen to live from the Dome Club.
Other media members will have the availability to sit down to chat with Vitzthum for one-on-ones across the hall in the CorTrust Club.
Vitzthum was named the 32
nd head coach on Friday, February 7 after two seasons on staff under both Bob Nielson and Travis Johansen, working with the Coyote wide receivers (2024) and quarterbacks (2025). He also served as the Co-Offensive Coordinator for the 2025 season.
