Coyotes Fall to Oral Roberts in Season Finale

TULSA, OKLA. — The South Dakota women's tennis team closed out its 2026 campaign with a 6-1 loss to Oral Roberts on Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Golden Eagles claimed the early momentum by securing the doubles point, taking victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. South Dakota's lone doubles win came from the No. 3 pairing of Natalia Alves De Lima and Keta Shavishvili, who earned a 7-5 victory.

In singles play, the Coyotes picked up their only point of the match at the top spot. Selena Bird delivered a strong performance at No. 1 singles, defeating Miranda Noor in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Bird, a senior, ended her career with 60 singles wins, becoming just the fifth Coyote in the Division I era to reach that mark. Her .625 winning percentage (60-36) in singles play ranks third best in D1 era.

With the loss, South Dakota concludes its season against Summit League competition, wrapping up the 2026 spring slate on the road.
