Box Score GREEN BAY, Wis. — South Dakota women's soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to Green Bay Thursday afternoon at Festival Foods Field at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
The Coyotes (1-1-1) and Phoenix (3-0-0) played to a scoreless draw through the opening 45 minutes, with both teams recording two shots on goal in the first half.
Green Bay broke through in the 51st minute when Laney Stark found the back of the net off assists from Aixa Helbringer-Escobar and Ella Rogowski.
South Dakota looked to find an equalizer throughout the remainder of the second half but was unable to break through the Green Bay defense. The Coyotes finished with four shots, putting three on frame, while Green Bay recorded eight total shots with three on goal.
Cambell Fischer made two saves in goal for South Dakota, while the Coyotes also earned two corner kicks.
South Dakota returns home Sunday for its first home match of the season, hosting Morningside at 1 p.m. at First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex.
