VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota triathlon is set to compete in three regular season meets and two postseason competitions this fall for the ninth season of South Dakota triathlon.
 
Head coach Kyle Joplin's squad is set to compete starting September 5 at the Southern Hills Collegiate Cup in Hot Springs, South Dakota (hosted by Black Hills State University). The season will conclude with the National Championship meet in Tempe, Arizona (hosted by Arizona State) on Sunday, November 8.
 
This year's Coyote squad features four returners to go with four newcomers. Alexa Magallon headlines the returning South Dakota triathletes. She was South Dakota's top finisher at the National Championships in 2024 and placed inside the top 15 at last year's championships.
 
South Dakota is coming off their best team finish at the National Championships (fifth) since 2022.
