VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota Coyotes soccer team is back in action this week opening a Summit League play against South Dakota State at home for a Red Out on Thursday, September 24th at 6:00 p.m. in the Interstate Series match, presented by First Interstate Bank. On Sunday, the Yotes will travel to Fargo to face off against North Dakota State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. 

THE COYOTES 

South Dakota enters the week with a 3-3-2 record and looks to start off conference play strong at home. It's a four-way tie for top goal scorer in non-conference play with Klarissa Vega, Kinsley Pesicka, Saide Strait, and Brooke Conway all tied for two goals apiece. In goal Cambell Fischer anchors the defense playing and starting in all eight matches so far this season with 32 saves on the season so far. This season so far, the Coyotes have a 2-1-0 record at home and a 1-2-2 record on the road. 
 
THE JACKRABBITS  

South Dakota State travels to Vermillion with a 5-2-1 record with wins over Washington State and Weber State. Midfielder Jenna Maloy leads the Jackrabbits with five goals on the season and Mia Bosch leads the team in assists with five on the season so far. The Coyotes are 6-10-5 overall against the Jackrabbits since 2000. 
 
THE BISON  

North Dakota state will face off against North Dakota on Thursday before the Coyotes make the trip to Fargo to close out the Summit League opening weekend. The Bison finished non-conference play with a 2-3-4 record and played seven home matches total, resulting in a 1-3-3 record on home turf. Junior forward Morgan Russmann leads the Bison with four goals on the season and is tied at the top of the team in assists with two. The Coyotes are 6-16-1 all time against the Bison since 1999.
