HOT SPRINGS, S.D. – The first race of the South Dakota triathlon season is in the books, with
Alexa Magallon leading the Yotes at the Southern Hills Collegiate Cup in Hot Springs, S.D.

South Dakota's top finisher Saturday morning was
Alexa Magallon, who completed the Super Sprint distance in 32:21.3. Magallon was followed by
Ella Spitz in 34:06.5 and
Sydni Sawyer 34:25.3.

The Coyotes had four more in the top 50 Saturday with Addi Champagne (35:00.6),
Lauren Myers (36:11.3),
Adeline Koritz (36:20.6) and
Ava Fugate (36:27.7).

As a team, South Dakota placed fifth in the opening race of the season with 208 points.
Alexa Magallon lead the Yotes with 54 points.

The Coyotes will be back in action at the Desert's Edge Collegiate Cup on Sept. 27.
