Finished seventh in the javelin and 15th in the hammer throw at the Arizona State Invitational...redshirted the indoor season...named to Summit League Academic Honor Roll with Distinguished Scholar status.

2012
Emerged as a strong contender in javelin throw...qualified for NCAA West Preliminaries in javelin throw, placing 28th in event with a throw of 139-5...fired a personal-best of 148-2 in javelin at Kansas Relays...won javelin and hammer throw at Mount Marty Twilight Meet, and set personal-best in hammer throw of 164-8 at meet...had four event wins during the season...had a personal-best of 51-7 in weight throw at Bill Hillenbrand meet (indoor).

Sat out as a redshirt.

2010
Named the GWC Female Newcomer of the Year at the GWC Outdoor Championships after earning two All-Great West honors...placed third in the hammer with a season-best 151-2 and third in the javelin...also placed fifth in the discus with a season-best 128-4 for a total of 16 team points...placed fourth in the weight throw at the GWC Indoor Championships with a season-best throw of 45-9 1/4...also placed fourth in the shot put at the event...notched season bests of 40-10 1/4 in the shot put and 136-5 in the javelin.

Prep
A three-year qualifier for the state track meet, Wellensiek was a standout in the field events for Coach Rich Bacon at Johnson County Central High School...as a senior qualified for the state meet in the pole vault, discus and shot put...posted two school records during the season in the shot put (37-2 1/2) and discus (125-0)...as a junior qualified in three events and finished fifth in the pole vault with a school record 9-6...as a sophomore qualified in three events and placed fourth at state in the pole vault with a mark of 9-4...lettered four times in track and field...also a four-year starter on the volleyball and basketball teams...won numerous state and national awards for power lifting.
