Had a highly successful freshman campaign, qualifying for NCAA West Preliminaries in shot put and taking 34th...earned two All-Summit League honors on year, including winning indoor championship in shot put at 54-4...also placed second in shot put at outdoor championships (54-9) and was named Men's Newcomer of the Year at the event...set school outdoor record in shot put at 58-10 at Double Dual...finished with five event wins on the season...had personal-best of 167-6 in discus at Double Dual, and had personal-best of 149-7 in hammer throw at Aztec Open.

Comes to South Dakota after a decorated throwing career...was a three-time state champion in the shot put...won the 2011 shot put title with a state meet record of 67-10...also took second in the shot put at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in July 2011...as a senior at the state track meet won the shot put with a toss of 61-9 1/2 and finished second in the discus in 168-3...both throws were school records...shot put mark of 69-3 is best all-time in South Dakota prep history...as a sophomore won the shot put in 55-1...as a freshman placed fourth in the shot put in 53-4 3/4...placed third in intermediate division of the shot put at the 2008 USATF National Junior Olympics with a toss of 52-1 1/4...won the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in the shot put as a senior, junior and sophomore...placed in the top seven at the event two other times...holds numerous meet records...also competed in football and basketball during his prep career...earned three all-conference honors on the football team as a four-year starter...holds two school records and was named offensive MVP three times...named all-conference twice on the basketball court.
