Had a strong sophomore season, qualifying for NCAA West Preliminaries in the discus...earned two All-Summit League honors on the year, taking second in discus (165-8) at outdoor championships and third in shot put at indoor championships (53-5)...set school outdoor record in discus (186-7) at Double Dual, which earned him Summit League Men's Athlete Track of the Week honors (4/10/12)...won shot put and discus at Sioux City Relays...finished with five event wins on the season.
2010-11
Enjoyed a solid freshman campaign during the outdoor season...took home two All-Great West Conference honors for his performance at the Great West Outdoor Championships...won the shot put with a throw of 52-1 1/2 and took second in the discuss with a toss of 157-10...had a season-best distance in the discuss with 162-3 at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays...did not compete indoors.
Prep
One of the top prep throwers in the nation, Cody Snyder was a standout shot putter and discus thrower for Coach Cliff Johnson at Andes Central High School. Through three years of track, Snyder has finished in the top two at the Class B state meet five times, including earning titles in the shot put (53-4 3/4) and discus (163-11) last spring. He was the 2005 AAU National Champion in the discus and the runner-up in the shot put. At the 2006 USATF Junior Olympics, Snyder won the shot put and placed third in the discus. In 2008, he placed second in the discus and fourth in the shot put at the USATF Junior Olympics. Snyder holds Andes Central High School records in the discus (174-2) and the shot put (53-7 ½) and was named the MVP of the 2010 Dan Lennon Invite. At the 2010 state championships he won first place in the discus with a throw of 167-3 and first in the shot put with a throw of 56-3. Snyder also lettered twice in football.

Son of Mike Snyder, who was a thrower for USD in the 1980's, and Mary Payer...majoring in Biology and is in the pre-physical therapy program with a minor in Interdisciplinary Sciences.
