University of South Dakota Athletics

History

This endowment was established in order to provide scholarships for student-athletes at USD. Funds for the scholarship endowment were raised from a mini-campaign for intercollegiate athletes initiated and approved in 1996 by the Foundation through John Hilpert, interim executive director; intercollegiate athletics; the USD Athletic Board of Control; and Dr. Betty Asher, USD President.

Fund Notes

Started in 1997, earnings generated are used to provide scholarships to Coyote athletes who are eligible to compete as a member of a varsity athletic team at USD. The recipients must be kinesiology & sports sciences or other health sciences majors.
