Connor Cheek joined the South Dakota football staff as the director of football operations in Feburary of 2024.

Cheek comes to Vermillion from Iowa State, where he spent last season as the associate of equipment operations with the Cyclone football team.  One of two people assigned to the ISU football team, Cheek assisted with Iowa State’s equipment procurement and development and oversaw a student staff of eleven.  He also provided leadership with various aspects of team travel during the 2023 season.
 
The Kansas native is a 2023 graduate of Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  While at Kansas State, Cheek served as a football equipment manager and assisted with team travel.
