Spencer Brown is in his first season with the Coyote football team. Brown serves as video coordinator and provides quality control.
Originally from Nashville, Tenn., Brown graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Management, and with a minor in economics with financial applications.Â
Brown served as the Defensive Graduate Assistant at the University of North Texas where he graduated in 2014 with a Master's of Business Administration in Marketing. There, Brown coached linebackers and assisted the defensive coordinator and position coaches, while recruiting the North Texas area and Mississippi Junior Colleges. In 2013, the Mean Green won 9 games on their way to becoming Heart of Dallas Bowl champions, led by a defense that ranked 8th nationally in Scoring Defense, 17th nationally in Total Defense and in the Top 10 in many other statistical categories.
Brown coached two linebackers at North Texas who now compete in the NFL. Zach Orr, a first-team all-Conference USA pick, is a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Derek Akunne, who led Conference USA in tackles and earned first-team all-league honors, plays for the Atlanta Falcons.
