Nick Hovden, former men's and women's head coach for eight seasons, returns as a volunteer coach for the men's team for the 2019-20 season.

Hovden led the Coyotes men’s team to its first golf championship in the 2014-15 season and was named the Summit League Men’s Golf Coach of the Year. At the championships, three golfers placed in the top-10. The team advanced to the NCAA Bremerton Regional in Washington at Olympic Course at Gold Mountain. The Coyotes placed 14^th at the regional.

Hovden and his wife, Jamie, have a son, Tysen, and two daughters, Kaylie and Ashlyn while residing in Vermillion.
