Illinois Springfield | Freshman
He recorded the fourth lowest season scoring average in program history in the 2020-21 season with a 74.79 average in 14 rounds of action. He also has the second lowest round in program history (67). He recorded two top 10 finishes including a top five finish at the Dan Salisbury Memorial Tournament with a two round score of 147. He recorded a season low three round score of 219 at the Brickyard Invitational.
Prep
Schmidtke played his high school golf for Andrew Delong at Sheboygan North High School. As a Raider, Schmidtke was a three-time all-state selection, four-time all-conference selection, two-time conference player of the year and was a three-time state qualifier. He tied for eighth place his senior season for his best place at state. He has the school record for fewest strokes in a round with 69 at the 2019 WIAA Regional Championship. Academically, Schmidtke was a two-year member of the National Honors Society.
