Trajan Johnson

Trajan Johnson joined the Coyote track and field coaching staff as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Johnson spent the past two years as a volunteer coach with the Southern Miss track and field program, primarily working with the sprinters. The Golden Eagles won back-to-back Conference USA indoor championships on the women's side while he was on staff. He also worked with a handful of all-Conference USA individuals - Donald Butler won the 400 meters (2022), Elijah Miller placed third in the 100 meters (2022), Kenia Seals added a bronze (2022). He helped with the relays as well, helping coach the women's 4x100-meter relay to silver in 2021 and gold in 2022, while the men's 4x400-meter relay took third in 2022.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Johnson graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in sports education. He's working towards a master's degree in kinesiology and sport management at USD.
