Placed seventh in the decathlon at the Summit League Outdoor Championships with 5,468 points...was sixth in the heptathlon at the Jack Johnson Classic...finished sixth in the 100 with a career-best time of 11.39 and seventh in the long jump at the Mt. Marty Twilight...had career-best time of 8.34 in the 55 hurdles at the Dordt Indoor Invitational...placed seventh in the javelin at the USD Open...made the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

2012
Had season-best of 5,034 points in decathlon at Wildcat Classic...finished sixth in the heptathlon with a personal-best 4,206 points at Summit League Indoor Championships...won heptathlon at Bill Hillenbrand indoor meet (3,778 points).

2011
Finished fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles at the GWC Outdoor Championships with a season-best time of of 55.93...also competed in the 110-meter hurdles and the 4 x 400 meter relay during the season...did not compete indoors.

Prep
Under the tutelage of Coach Ryan Decker at Tea Area High School, Jason Steinburg joins the Coyotes after a celebrated prep career. At the 2010 state championships he finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in 39.87, his 4x200-meter relay team finished fourth, and he finished fifth in the long jump at 21-2 3/4. He participated in six events at the state track meet. His relay teams (4x100, 4x200 and 4x400) set several school records. He also lettered in track, wrestling and football.
