Chuck Love is set to begin his fourth season as an assistant women's basketball coach at South Dakota. With Love on staff, the Coyotes have won 64 games through three seasons, posted a 35-7 record inside the DakotaDome, and advanced to the finals of the Summit League Tournament three years in a row including a win in 2014.

Love arrived in Vermillion after spending 2011-12 as an assistant coach for the Rogers State men's basketball program. A 2008 Northwestern Oklahoma State graduate, Love helped coach the Hillcats back to the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball national quarterfinals in the 2011-12 season. He was responsible for recruiting, scouting and development of post players.

Prior to serving at Rogers State, he was an assistant coach at Wayland Baptist University in Texas and was a graduate assistant coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he played from 2006-08. As a senior he was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the year, and as a junior, helped the Rangers rached the final eight in the NAIA national tournament.

Love earned a bachelor of science in health and sports science from NW Oklahoma State in 2008. He and his wife, Charmaine, have a son, Chuck Love III.
