University of South Dakota Athletics

Bailey Zubke joined the University of South Dakota athletic department on July 1, 2024, as the assistant director of communications. He will serve as the contact for women's basketball, women's soccer, and the track and field programs. 

Zubke comes to South Dakota from Morningside University. He’s spent the past two seasons in a similar role as a communication and athletic information specialist for the Mustangs. He also worked in game day operations for the Sioux City Explorers, helping with both statistics and broadcast operations.

Prior to Morningside, Zubke spent time as a sports editor and writer at both the Sioux City Journal and the Yankton Press & Dakotan. He reported on area high school athletics as well as covering regional college athletic programs, including the Coyotes.
 
A native of Watertown, South Dakota, Zubke graduated from the University of South Dakota in May of 2022 with a bachelor of arts in sport marketing and media. Throughout his undergraduate career, he served as the USD Cross Media Council President working with the leaders of The Volante, Coyote News, and KAOR Radio.
