A former Coyote soccer player, Amanda Carpio joined the soccer staff after a four year career in Vermillion as a graduate assistant prior to the 2020 season.
Carpio graduated from USD in May of 2019 with a bachelor of science degree in biology.
Carpio saw action in 73 games from 2016-19 and recorded six career goals. Carpio also recorded six assists and 18 points. Carpio recorded 2,969 minutes on the pitch for the Coyotes. As a junior, she helped USD to the most wins in the Division I era and helped USD tally the highest shooting percentage in Division I era.
A native of Thornton, Colorado, Carpio attended Skyview High School. At Skyview, Carpio scored 32 goals as a senior to break the Colorado state record for goals scored in a single season. She sent 63 balls to the back of the net off 265 shots taken in high school career and also dished out 31 assists for a total 157 points for the Wolverines. She played club soccer for the Colorado Storm and was named the team's player of the year in 2014.
Academically she earned academic all-state honors and was the National Honor Society President. She won both the school and district science fair.
At USD, Carpio is pursing a master's in public health.
