Clara Edwards joins the University of South Dakota staff as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. 

Edwards spent the entirety of her playing career at USD. She was named to an All-Summit League team every year of her career, including first team in 2025 and 2023. Edwards also earned six pitcher of the week honors in her career, CSC Academic all-district in 2024 and 2023, NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2023, and Summit League Academic Honor Roll in 2023.

She left her name in the program’s record book as tied-sixth most starts in a season, with all four of her seasons in the top 10. Her 15 wins in 2025 is tied for ninth all-time. Edwards ended her Coyote career ranking No. 1 with seven saves, No. 1 with 121 starts, tied for second with 54 wins, No. 2 with 73 complete games, No. 2 with 718.0 innings pitched, No. 3 with 432 strikeouts and No. 4 in ERA (2.62).
