University of South Dakota Athletics

Gina Mockler joined the South Dakota Athletic Department in July 2022, after spending four years across campus in the Financial Affairs office. In February 2024, under the leadership of Schemmel, Mockler was promoted to her current role of Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations, while also being named the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). 

Prior to sliding over to the athletics department, Mockler served as the Senior Budget and Finance Specialist across campus for the university's budget office. 

A native of Mitchell, South Dakota, Mockler has spent nearly 11 years working in various roles at the University since her graduation from USD in 2010.

Mockler, formerly Baldwin, was a setter for the Coyote volleyball program for five years. Upon the end of her playing career, she sat second in program history in assists (3,655 assists). Currently, the mark sits fifth on USD's career charts for career assists.

She earned her undergraduate degree in accounting in 2009, while completing her master’s degree in sport management in 2010, both from the University of South Dakota.

Mockler and her husband, Brett, have two children, Mickelson and Maverick.
