Jaren Borland

Jaren Borland joined South Dakota's strength and conditioning staff as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in June of 2024.

Borland arrives in Vermillion after spending the past three years as the head strength and conditioning coach at Angelo State. He oversaw a strength and conditioning program to several successful programs, including the Rams’ national champion baseball team and a football program that reached the NCAA Division II’s Elite Eight in back-to-back seasons.
 
Other professional stops in his career include three years at Colorado State-Pueblo as an assistant strength and conditioning coach working with eight programs including football. He was also an assistant strength coach for football at the University of Buffalo for two years.
 
Borland earned his master’s degree in health, human performance, recreation and coaching, from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2016. His certifications include CSCS, CPR and AED credentials, and USAW-L1SP.
