Jessica Wingen slid over to the South Dakota athletic department in early 2019 after serving as an accounting assistant and budget analyst at USD for more than seven years. Among other things, Wingen assists USD athletic director Jon Schemmel and the Coyote athletic staff. She prepares and maintains files for scholarship award letters and NLI forms, competition reports and game contracts for each sport, and payroll approval.
 
Wingen earned her associates degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls in 2004. Since then, she has gained experience assisting multiple areas including child care, agricultural and law offices, formal wear and banking. As USD’s budget analyst, she prepared various fiscal reports for the Vice President of Finance, conducted budget reviews and documented transactions.
 
Wingen grew up in Gregory, South Dakota, and graduated from Gregory High School. She has five children: Michael, Parker, Catherine, Elsie Jean and Reagan. Her parents own a hunting business that she assists with in the fall. She is co-president of the PTSA committee at St. Agnes Elementary School in Vermillion.
