Elizabeth ("Liz") Malarski was introduced as the program's pitching coach for head coach Shannon Pivovar in July 2026.
Malarski comes to Vermillion after spending the 2026 season at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where the Pointers earned a berth to the NCAA Division III national tournament with a 30-15 (7-7 WIAC) record. She worked with a dominate UW-Stevens Point pitching staff that saw had a pair of pitchers with 80+ innings of work that had a sub-2.00 ERA (Kodi Rizzo, 11-3, 1.15 ERA & Morgan Harwood, 10-4, 1.90 ERA).
Prior to her time at UW-Stevens Point, Malarski served as the pitching coach at her alma mater, Edgewood University (Wis.), for the 2025 season. She worked with ace arm, Lauren Prigg, who pitched 105+ innings and had a sub-3.50 ERA.
The Chicago, Illinois native played three seasons at Edgewood University (Wis.) from 2022-24 where she held a 3.47 ERA with an 8-3 record over 78 innings of work in the circle for the Eagles. She also held a career batting average of .283 as a two-way player for Edgewood. Malarski pitched the seventh no-hitter in Edgewood history in 2022 (March 22) against Alverno. She spent her first two collegiate seasons (2020-21) at Cairn University (Pa.).
Malarski is a 2024 graduate of Edgewood where she earned a degree in criminal justice.
