Mike Moran transitioned to director of compliance in the summer of 2018 after serving as USD's NCAA certification officer since 2010. In that role, he was responsible for certifying the NCAA eligibility of all Coyote athletes and reported to the registrar. In addition, he served as an advisor, completed all academic progress rate information, and evaluated all transfer and potential transfer student-athletes within the rules of the NCAA, USD and the Board of Regents.

Moran, a native of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, is a 2004 graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he set seven swimming records, was a two-time captain and an all-American in 2002 in the 100-yard breaststroke. He was a graduate assistant swim coach at University of North Dakota where he earned a master’s in kinesiology, and was hired as a full-time assistant in 2007. In late 2008, Moran began work at USD as an admissions counselor.
Mike and his wife Jenny (Chandler) Moran reside in Vermillion with their two kids, Kyleigh and Rylan.Â
