Seth Vinton enters his first year on the South Dakota men’s basketball staff as the director of operations.

Vinton comes to USD after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Texas A& International and Seminole State College. While at Texas A&M, Vinton conducted the scouting reports and walk throughs prior to games and helped coach the Dustdevils to the No. 3 defense in the LSC. Vinton began his coaching career at Sam Houston State where he was the head student manager. He helped develop scouting reports, assisted with travel accommodations and planning recruiting visits. During his time at Sam Houston State, the Bearkats posted a 19-win season in their first year in the WAC and had 26 wins the following season.

Vinton earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at Sam Houston State. Vinton and his wife Brittany reside in Vermillion.
