Corey Jenkins joined the University of South Dakota athletic department as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations in July 2018. He was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director in January 2024 after serving as the Interim Athletic Director for the Fall 2023 semester.

During his time at USD, Jenkins has served on numerous committees across campus. He currently serves on five boards on campus: Gender Equity Committee, Athletic Board of Control, CARE Team, and the Threat Assessment & Response Team (TART).

After the hiring of Schemmel, Jenkins was elevated to his current position as Deputy Athletic Director where he now serves as the sport admin for football and men’s basketball, plus overseeing the communications, development, event management, facilities, marketing, ticketing, and video teams of 50+ full time staff members. He also serves as the department’s lead liaison of USD’s Learfield partnership and continues to be the primary contact for all capital projects and the facility master plan for the athletic department.

In his Deputy AD role, he oversees the goals and revenue generation of the athletic department through ticket sales, sponsorships, fundraising events, and facility rentals. Jenkins oversaw a re-structuring of the external units of the athletic department ahead of the 2024-25 academic year to maximize revenue generation, community engagement, and fan experience. With that, ticket sales have seen increases with his oversight, including a 6.7% football increase from 2023-24 and a 10.5% increase in volleyball from 2023 to 2024.

Following his time in Winston Salem, Jenkins transitioned to the role of Senior Associate AD for Facilities and Operations at South Dakota in the summer of 2018. In his five years in that role, he was a member of USD’s senior staff team and had direct oversight of Event Management, Facilities, Strength & Conditioning, Athletic Training, and Equipment.

He also served as the sport admin for football, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. Additionally, Jenkins also served as the athletic department’s representative for the capital projects of the football practice field, the initial DakotaDome renovation (Phase I), and the USD Wellness Center Expansion.

Jenkins began his career in athletics at Wake Forest University and spent 11 years in Winston Salem, beginning in 2007 up through June 2018. He started as Assistant Director of Event Management & Facilities in August 2007 and was promoted to Director of Event Management and Facilities in June 2012. Just over a year later, he was elevated to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Events, Facilities, and Operations (2013-18).

A native of Athens, Georgia, Jenkins is a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in sport studies. In 2007, he earned his master’s degree in physical education from Florida State University. He is an active member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) since 2008 and has served as two committee chairs within the organization in the Sponsorship Committee (2022-24) and Convention Committee (2021-22).

Jenkins and his wife, Faith, have three children: Shepard, Everest, and Lochlan.
