Russ Rose

Russ Rose was named assistant women's basketball coach on May 5, 2016, to begin his first year on staff ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Rose comes to South Dakota after spending two seasons on Plitzuweit’s staff at Northern Kentucky. Rose brings seven years of coaching experience from the high school, AAU and collegiate levels.
 
At Northern Kentucky, Rose worked on player skill development, recruitment, game plans, video operations and managed summer basketball camps.
 
Rose was an assistant at his alma mater, Davenport University, prior to joining Plitzuweit’s staff. His coaching stops include Central Michigan University, Michigan Basketball Club (AAU), and Hopkins High School. Rose also spent a season as Central Michigan’s video coordinator, breaking down film and developing scouting reports for the team.
 
Rose, a four-year letterwinner for Davenport’s men’s basketball team, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2007. He received his MBA from Davenport in 2014.

Rose and his wife, Shannon, have one son, Cam.
