VERMILLION, S.D. - University of South Dakota women's soccer coach Jessica Maddox announced Tuesday that she has received a national letter of intent from
Tina Brummer of Gretna, Neb., to join the USD soccer program this fall.
Brummer led Gretna High School to a runner-up finish at the 2002 Nebraska Class B State High School Championship, earning first-team All-State honors as a junior. She also was named to the All-Metro, All-Conference, Academic All-Conference and Academic All-State squads last season, while playing for head coach Bruce Sackett. Brummer, who is projected as a forward for the Coyotes, played club soccer for the Arsenal Blitz, coached by Steve Moore.
An all-around athlete, Brummer was also a member of the Gretna softball team. Tina is the daughter of Ron and Nina Brummer and has one sister, Heather (20) and two brothers Chad (23) and Brett (14).
Brummer will join three other native Nebraskans in this year's recruiting class, including Hayley Barth (Omaha, Neb.), Lena Legband (Fremont, Neb.) and Carla Neppl (Omaha, Neb.). Rouding out the eight-person class is Leigh Hallauer (Aurora, Colo.), Bethany Hamilton (Rapid City, S.D.), Megan Lawson (Aurora, Colo.) and Edie Sherman (Rochester, Minn.).
