Klarissa Vega Earns United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Honors After Standout 2025 Season

VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota Coyotes women's soccer freshman forward Klarissa Vega has been selected to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-West Region Third Team, earning regional recognition in her debut collegiate season. 

Vega's first collegiate season was nothing short of exceptional. The freshman standout led the Coyotes in total goals, led the team in points, and finished tied for second in assists, establishing herself as the driving force of the Coyotes attack. 

Across 19 matches (18 starts), Vega produced: 

  • 8 goals — team leader 

  • 3 assists — tied for second on the team 

  • 19 points — team leader 

  • 47 shots, 26 on goal (.553 SOG%) 

  • 2 game-winning goals 

  • 2-for-2 on penalty kicks 

  • 1,239 minutes played 

Vega quickly became one of the Summit League's most exciting young players, delivering clutch performances at Idaho and against North Dakota, earning Newcomer of the Year, Second Team All-Conference, and now 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-West Region Third Team.
