KANSAS CITY, MO. (Mar. 23, 2005)---The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the NABC Division II All-American Teams recognizing the country's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes, including South Dakota's Turner Trofholz. The players were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC.

Trofholz, who is the third-straight All-American at USD and fourth in six years, becomes just the fifth All-American and fourth individual in school history to be named an All-American (Jim Daniels, 1957; Nate Blessen, 2000; Tommie King, 2003, 2004).

A 6'8, junior, Trofholz averaged 21.3 points (2nd in NCC, 14th in Division II) and 8.0 rebounds per game for the Coyotes, who finished 27-6, a school record for wins in a season, after falling to Metro State in the North Central Regional final, 89-84.

The Schuyler, Neb. native shot 63.6% (272-of-428) from the field, which was good for seventh in Division II. Trofholz scored in double figures in every game this season and went over 20 points 17 times. He had a career-high 42 against Nebraska-Kearney in the first round of the North Central Regional Tournament.

This season, Trofholz became the 16th player under Dave Boots to cross the 1,000 point mark and the 35th in school history. He now has 1,281 points in 93 career games.

Trofholz was named a Daktronics Third Team All-American yesterday, the North Central Conference Most Valuable Player, the NCC Tournament MVP and First Team All-District, while also collecting honors as an Academic All-NCC selection and ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA 1st Team All-Academic District VII pick.
