LINCOLN, NEB. - Titles by Mark Liebl in the men's javelin and the women's 4x400-meter relay highlighted the South Dakota Track and Field team's performance at the University of Nebraska Invitational at the Ed Weir Outdoor Track on the Nebraska-Lincoln campus in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday. In addition, USD men's team hurdler Terry Liggins set a school record in finishing second in the 110-meter hurdles.

Liebl, a senior from Menno, S.D., won the javelin throw with a toss of 195'11, and a provisional mark for the NCAA Division II national meet. A week ago, Liebl had a throw of 201'10 at the Vance Butler Invite in Sioux Falls, S.D. Liebl also finished third in the discus throw with a toss of 159'01.

The South Dakota women's 4x400-meter relay team put together its best performance of the outdoor season by clocking a 3:44.75. The team included Kassy Laber of Parkston, S.D.; Amber Stoltenburg, Elkton, S.D.; Heidi Muellenberg, Redfield, S.D.; and Stephanie Gebhart of Elkton, S.D. Gebhart also had her best performance of the outdoor season in the 400-meters with a clocking of 54.92. Muellenberg finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a clocking of 24.87. Freshman Natalie Stout of Crofton, Neb., also had a second-place finish in the triple jump by going 38;02.75.

Liggins, a sophomore from Omaha, Neb., finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.20, finishing just behind Nebraska's Courtney Jones (13.96). Liggins' clocking is a USD school-record in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles, which he set a year ago (14.22).

Other men's team track highlights included a second-place finish by senior Sam Pribyl of Webster, S.D., who had a vault of 16'07.25.
