USD Soccer Falls to Park University

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA -- Park University scored three goals in the first period to secure a 3-1 win over The University of South Dakota at the UNI Panther Invitational on Sunday morning in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

South Dakota's Sarah Halbach (Sr., St. Paul, Minn.) scored the Coyotes lone goal off an assist from Hailie Meyer (So., Onalaska, Wis.) which came in 88th minute of play. Park University scored it first goal in the first seven minutes of play and then added a second goal at the 20 minute mark. The Pirates scored it third and final goal in the 31st minute.

The game was pretty equal as USD had 12 shots and seven shot on goal compared to Park University's 14 shots and seven shots on goal.

Jen Ogren (So., Raymore, Mo.) suffered the loss in the net as she played all 90 minutes and had four saves while allowing three goals.

USD falls to 3-8 overall while Park University now posts a 5-1-2 overall record.

South Dakota will continue play next Sunday, Oct. 5 when they take on the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D. at 2 p.m.
