VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota women's soccer team opens play at the
Great West Conference Championship Friday against South Carolina State. The quarterfinal matchup begins at 11:30 a.m. in Houston, Texas.
The Coyotes are the No. 4 seed out of the West Division while South Carolina State is the No. 1 seed out of the East Division.
Series History
It will be the first-ever meeting between South Dakota and South Carolina State in women's soccer.

South Carolina State - South Carolina State is 12-5-1 overall and finished 6-0 in the Great West Conference and won the East Division...the Bulldogs finished the season on a six-game winning streak...Briana Lopez and Brooke Ehinger each had nine goals and 24 points to lead South Carolina State, while Olivia Moore has seven goals and 17 points...Danielle Murphy has 43 saves and four shutouts to lead the Bulldogs in goal...South Carolina State has an enrollment of 4,700 and is located in Orangeburg, S.C...Glad Bugariu is in his third season at SCSU with a record of 24-22-6. In his sixth season overall, Bugariu has a record of 76-34-8.
Climbing the Top 10
--Jen Ogren is now USD's all-time leader in saves with 363; she surpassed Candice Martinez in the Coyotes' loss at Drake on Sept. 30.
--Senior Katie Quinones is sixth all-time with 44 career points, and also is sixth all-time with 20 career goals. She is now fifth in career shots (152, just one out of second) and is tied for sixth in shots on goal with 46.
Great West Players of the Week
Ogren has earned four Great West Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors this season (Aug. 30, Sept. 13, Sept. 19, Oct. 3), while Teslow has earned two GWC Offensive Player of the Week honors (Aug. 30, Sept. 13).
