Box Score VERMILLION, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota women's soccer team saw its two-game unbeaten streak end Saturday as the Coyotes fell to Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis, 3-0 in a nonconference game in Vermillion, S.D.
USD (1-2-1) trailed just 1-0 at halftime but IUPUI scored two second-half goals to pull away.
The Coyotes had a pair of good scoring opportunities in the first half. Freshman Jenny Teslow (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had a shot that was saved by IUPUI goalkeeper Kristin Haseley at the 17:40 mark of the first half, and seconds later, senior Katie Quinones (Rochester, Minn.) had shot sail just wide of the net.
In the second half, Teslow had a shot hit the crossbar which would have put USD within 2-1 with 22 minutes left.
Quinones, Teslow and sophomore Erin Bello (Fort Collins, Colo.) led USD with three shots each. Senior Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.) had 10 saves in net.
The Coyotes resume action Monday at home against Western Illinois. Game time is 1 p.m. at the USD Soccer Field.
