VERMILLION, S.D. -- Local media and fans got a chance to preview the upcoming seasons for the South Dakota men's and women's basketball teams during the programs' annual Media Day, which was held in front of a large audience at the Muenster University Center on the USD Campus Thursday in Vermillion, S.D.

South Dakota women's head coach Ryun Williams and men's head coach Dave Boots addressed the crowd and talked about the 2011-12 seasons, which will make the first for the Coyote teams in the Summit League. More than a dozen media outlets, including area television and radio stations and newspapers, attended the event. Williams and Boots were available for one-on-one interviews following their speeches, as were Coyote student-athletes from both teams.

The Coyote men open the 2011-12 season with a nonconference matchup at Nebraska on Nov. 11. South Dakota's home opener is set for Nov. 20 against nonconference foe Nebraska-Omaha at 2 p.m. at the DakotaDome.

The Coyote women open the 2011-12 campaign at home on Nov. 18 against Northern Arizona for a 7 p.m. tipoff at the DakotaDome.
