Alexa Duling tied a school record and freshman
Analisa Huschle had a strong runner-up finish in the long jump to highlight competition for the South Dakota track and field teams at the opening day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Friday in Lincoln, Neb. The meet features several quality athletes from Division I programs.

Huschle (Bagley, Minn.) recorded a personal-best of 19-2 1/2 in the long jump to finish second in the event, ahead of athletes from Wisconsin and Colorado State. That is the best jump in the Summit League so far this season, and topped her previous personal best mark by nearly three inches.
Senior Haley Juhnke (Vivian, S.D.) had a personal-best of 8.94 in the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for Saturday's consolation final in that event.
For the Coyote men, junior Kyle Ballew (West Hills, Calif.) led the way with a 15-9 effort in the pole vault, just missing a personal best. Freshman Lukas Bernard (Watertown, S.D.) had a good run in the men's 400 meters with a time of 49.72.
