CHICAGO, Ill.--A back and forth match between South Dakota and Loyola Chicago ended in a 1-1, double-overtime tie.

USD sophomore Kylee Willer (Fort Collins, Colo.) started the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 34:46 mark. Willer's shot arched over the arms of Ramblers' goalkeeper Monica Gonyo and into the net.

The lead didn't last long, however, as just over three minutes later Loyola's Jessie Hubly's strike from 20 yards knotted the score at one.

"Tonight was our best two halves of soccer for the season," said head coach Mandy Green. "We played really smart and stayed composed throughout the match. Offensively we creating a lot of opportunities and we were in good position defensively."

Coyote keeper Jen Schaefer (Cary, N.C.) came up big with four saves, including stopping a header from Loyola's Monika Lee. The shot was the Ramblers' best chance for a win in regulation, as both teams continued to play strong defense for the remainder of the contest.

The tie was the second of the year for the Coyotes (1-5-2) and the first for the Ramblers (3-4-1).

"It was certainly an exciting game. The whole team had great energy, especially the bench. The bench was loud and talkative the entire game," Green said.

The Coyotes take the field again Sunday at Northern Illinois (3-3). Game time is 1 p.m.
